At Bruntmor, we believe that mealtime should be a cherished experience shared with family and friends. That’s why for over a decade, we’ve been handcrafting high-quality cast iron cookware that makes any kitchen feel like home.

Our Story

It all started in a small workshop in the Dutch countryside, where our founder perfected the art of cast iron craftsmanship passed down through generations. Every piece was made entirely by hand, from casting each pan to polishing and seasoning it to perfection.

Word of our dutch ovens and skillets soon spread across Europe for their unmatched heating performance and long-lasting durability. But we didn’t want this centuries-old cooking tradition reserved for professional chefs – we believed every home cook deserved to experience the joys of cooking with cast iron.

So in 2008, we brought the Bruntmor brand to the USA. After years of feedback from many happy customers, we relocated to Tennessee and opened our flagship factory store where customers can see our cast iron cookware being made first-hand.

Today our small team of seasoned experts (no pun intended) carry on our founder’s legacy with the same passion and patience he instilled in us. We still hand-craft every piece from raw materials to finished product without taking shortcuts. Because enjoying mealtime with your loved ones shouldn’t be rushed.

Our Process

Creating heirloom-quality cast iron requires meticulous effort from start to finish. Here’s how we do it:

  • Melting – We melt recycled iron and steel at over 2,000°F in our induction furnace. Once liquefied, we carefully add the precise amounts of carbon and silicone.
  • Molding – The liquid iron is poured into sand molds, which give each piece its distinct shape. Skillets are molded bottom-up, while dutch ovens are molded top-down.
  • Cooling and Cleaning – The cast pieces cool in the molds before being knocked out. Then we grind off excess material and sand residue.
  • Seasoning – Pre-seasoning gives our cookware its signature nonstick patina. We evenly coat each piece with proprietary natural oils and bake it at over 500°F. This process is repeated 3-5 times until the iron is jet black.
  • Polishing – Lastly, we smooth out the cooking surface by hand-buffing until it has a subtle sheen. This enhances both appearance and nonstick ability.

While other brands take shortcuts, we refuse to compromise on quality. Our time-honored technique results in cast iron that’s lighter, smoother, and naturally nonstick right out of the box.
